Legal Assistant

Location: West Palm Beach, FL (In-Office) Employment Type: Full-Time Hightower & Partners, P.A., an AV-rated insurance defense law firm, is seeking a motivated Litigation Assistant / Junior Paralegal to join our West Palm Beach office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal support professional looking to advance their career while gaining hands-on experience in civil litigation and insurance defense. Prior insurance defense experience is required for this position. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting attorneys and paralegals in insurance defense litigation and be familiar with the demands of a fast-paced litigation practice. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is proactive, dependable, and eager to grow. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines while providing reliable support to attorneys and paralegals. As your experience and capabilities grow, you will have opportunities to take on increased responsibility and more substantive legal work. Responsibilities Assist attorneys and paralegals with insurance defense litigation support and case management. Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files. Prepare, review, and manage case-related documents and correspondence. Request, track, and organize records and other litigation materials. Assist with the preparation and processing of subpoenas. Coordinate scheduling for hearings, depositions, mediations, and other litigation events. Calendar deadlines and maintain accurate case schedules. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, vendors, experts, and opposing counsel. Provide administrative and litigation support to ensure cases progress efficiently. Assist with additional litigation and office projects as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience working in insurance defense is required. Prior experience supporting attorneys in a civil litigation practice is strongly preferred. Experience as a litigation assistant, legal assistant, or junior paralegal is preferred. Strong understanding of litigation procedures, deadlines, and case management. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn and grow. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This is an in-office position in West Palm Beach, Florida. Billable Expectations This position carries a billable requirement of up to 15 hours per week , with a primary focus on litigation support and other non-billable case management tasks. As you develop your skills and knowledge, you will have the opportunity to take on more substantive legal work and expand your responsibilities within the firm.
