Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Step Down Unit Duration: 48-hour contract Shift: Varies Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: 2 years of experience, ACLS, BLS Description: The position involves caring for patients in a medical step down unit. The unit typically contains 16 to 20 beds. The staff-to-patient ratio is 1 to 4. Common patient conditions include sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, and COPD. Other conditions may include chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy. Candidates must possess strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role. A commitment to providing high-quality patient care is required.
