Are you a detail-oriented, customer-first professional who thrives in a dynamic showroom environment? A local pump supply company is looking for a Retail Sales / Front Desk Receptionist to join their team and deliver exceptional support.

This role is a perfect match for a dependable individual who values clear communication, handles parts and equipment inquiries with ease, and wants to make a positive impact on our contractor relationships and walk-in counter operations.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $20.00, with overtime opportunities available

Key Responsibilities of the Retail Sales / Front Desk Receptionist

Front Desk Greeting: Welcome walk-in clients, contractors, and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor, acting as the primary face of the branch.
Counter & Retail Sales: Assist customers with product selection, answer questions regarding water system and pump components, and provide accurate pricing details.
Inbound Communications: Manage a steady flow of phone calls and emails, answering general inquiries and routing technical questions to the appropriate internal specialists.
Order Processing: Securely process retail transactions, handling cash, credit cards, and customer account charges through the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Showroom Support: Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the front desk and display areas, ensuring marketing materials and product catalogs remain stocked.
Administrative Operations: Track incoming orders, manage physical and digital filing, and assist the local team with basic administrative tasks.

Qualifications of the Retail Sales / Front Desk Receptionist

Experience: Previous experience in retail sales, front desk reception, or customer support is required; a background or familiarity with plumbing, hardware, or industrial supplies is highly preferred.
Efficiency: A proven ability to multitask effectively, balancing counter sales with administrative workflows while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
Technical Savvy: Comfortable utilizing retail POS systems, multi-line phone networks, and standard computer applications.
Professionalism: A positive, dependable attitude paired with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Local Presence: Reliable ability to commute to our facility located in Northern RI.
