Location and Schedule City/State: Nyack, New York Department: 4 Doctors Bargaining Unit: NH-NYSNA Work Shift: Day Work Days: Days vary, weekends and holidays Scheduled Hours: 7 AM – 7 PM Scheduled Daily Hours: 11.5 hours Hours per Pay Period: 18.75 Hourly Rate/Range: Starting at $55.40 per hour (subject to shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors) Job Summary The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for managing, delegating, coordinating, and providing nursing care through the application of the nursing process. The role involves effective communication with patients, significant others, and members of the multidisciplinary health care team. The RN assumes responsibility, as necessary, for the assessment, treatment, and care of patients of all ages (neonate to geriatric). This position requires competency in obtaining information, interpreting patient behavior, and understanding cognitive, biopsychosocial, and cultural factors. The RN is accountable for maintaining clinical competence and achieving the defined standards of care for the area of nursing practice. Essential Functions / Responsibilities Systematically provides nursing care to patients within the framework of the nursing process and established standards of practice. Integrates principles of patient safety in the provision of direct nursing care and medication management. Adheres to established system-wide communication standards and processes. Participates in designated forums that address patient care, patient education, policy and procedures, safety, and clinical outcomes. Demonstrates accountability for maintaining and improving professional knowledge and skill related to the area of practice. Documents competency on addendum age-specific competency forms. Qualifications Associate Degree required or Bachelor Degree preferred. One year Med/Surg experience preferred. National Certification in area of practice preferred. On-call required for OR, PACU, and Cath Lab; additional training requirements within specified time frames as listed for various units. Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (upon hire/transfer), PALS, NRP, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate (within 6 months of hire/transfer).
