The Team

Fidelity Corporate Development Group is a multidisciplinary team that works closely with all Fidelity's Business Units and the senior-most levels of the organization to evaluate strategic opportunities. These opportunities include potential investments, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic alliances, as well as business unit evaluations and reviews.

The team is relied upon for market intelligence, industry landscape analysis, strategic thinking, complex deal structuring, and providing an independent viewpoint on opportunities. No two days are identical and our job is to jump in to support the organization across multiple initiatives simultaneously, while bringing a critical eye to both organic and inorganic growth strategies. The work is collaborative, dynamic, innovative, and interesting.

The Role

Reporting to a Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, the Director will support the Corporate Development team and business partners by project managing and executing investment, partnership and acquisition processes from ideation through execution, including managing the valuation and due diligence processes, creating internal and external educational materials, coordinating with internal business partners, and working cross functionally to execute on processes. Throughout this process, the Director role is responsible for building strong, trusted internal and external relationships. Other responsibilities include staying current on industry trends and monitoring strategic moves of top competitors / industry leaders as well as researching current and future trends in the financial services industry. This role involves informally managing and training analysts and associates, and collaborating closely with Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents on work product, messaging, and strategy. The Director, Corporate Development role is a lynchpin around which the Corporate Development day-to-day work revolves and is a critical member of the team.


The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Development, Private Equity, Venture Capital, or other similar areas (e.g., M&A advisory / law)
• Proven track record in the full transaction life cycle, including but not limited to successful origination, valuation, negotiation and closing of strategic investments and/or acquisitions
• Advanced analytical, financial modeling and valuation skills
• Excellent research skills - the ability to gather and synthesize materials on companies, products, and industries
• Exceptional communication and influence skills - the ability to turn findings into results
• Superior organizational and process / project management skills, including the demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams
• Ability to flexibly work up and down the deal team hierarchy, from individual contributor to deal lead
• Experience and interest in mentoring / coaching earlier-career associates
• Results-orientation - versatile and self-motivated
• Financial Service industry experience is preferred

Fidelity's Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$222,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
