Benefits Specialist

Role Description

As a primary point of contact for employees and leaders, the HR Benefits Specialist provides timely, accurate, and customer-focused support across a wide range of HR and benefits-related inquiries. This role plays a key part in delivering a positive employee experience by offering clear guidance, resolving issues efficiently, and promoting effective use of HR self-service tools and processes.

  • Serve as the primary contact for benefits-related inquiries via phone, email, and help desk
  • Manage inquiries from intake through resolution, including appropriate escalation when needed
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and qualifying life events in compliance with plan rules and regulations
  • Advise employees on eligibility, plan provisions, and coverage options
  • Track and communicate inquiry status updates to ensure a seamless employee experience
  • Utilize documented processes, policies, and knowledge resources to provide consistent and accurate responses
  • Partner closely with HR colleagues to support broader HR initiatives and continuous process improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • 1–2+ years of professional experience in benefits administration
  • Working knowledge of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, dental, vision, disability, and voluntary benefits
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
