Human Resources Generalist

LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team.

Location: Remote in the United States

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support the full spectrum of Human Resources (HR) functions for our multi-state government contracting organization of 260+ employees. This role is ideal for an early-career HR professional who is ready to grow, take ownership of key HR processes, and contribute to a compliance-driven, fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with the Director of Human Resources to ensure smooth daily operations, exceptional employee experience, and adherence to federal, state, and contract-specific requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate full-cycle onboarding and offboarding, including new-hire paperwork, background checks, and orientation logistics.
• Draft offer letters and coordinate all required post-contingent offer screenings and verifications.
• Post jobs on internal and external sites.
• Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data.
• Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and employee inquiries.
• Support the Director of HR in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and state-specific regulations.
• Support compliance with government contracting requirements such as OFCCP, EEO reporting, and contract-specific labor standards.
• Maintain documentation and audit-ready files for internal and external reviews.
• Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions and HR support needs.
• Assist with employee relations matters by gathering information, documenting issues, and escalating appropriately.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications.
• Assist the Director of HR with HR initiatives, policy updates, and process enhancements.
• Support HR reporting, metrics tracking, and data analysis.
• Contribute to special projects such as handbook updates, system implementations, or training programs.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2 - 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist or coordinator capacity.
• Strong understanding of HR fundamentals, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting multi-state HR operations strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with government contracting environments is a plus.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint, BambooHR, and/or Employee Navigator.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.

Expected Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 annually. Salary will be based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, training, certifications and work location.
