Mid-Level Software Engineer

MaxQ Medical is developing a next-generation ultrasound system that combines advanced electronics, signal processing, and system-level design to deliver a transformative imaging and therapy solution for prostate care. Our team operates at the intersection of hardware and software, building systems that enable precise treatments with better patient outcomes. We are hiring a Mid-Level Software Engineer to support both application software development and manufacturing testing systems for our ultrasound platform.This role will initially focus on building and stabilizing application-layer software, then transition into developing acoustic and electrical testing software used in manufacturing and validation environments.This is a highly cross-functional role working closely with hardware, systems, and engineering teams, with the opportunity to grow into ownership of testing systems over time.What Youll DoDevelop and maintain application-level software supporting medical device functionalityDesign and build manufacturing test software for acoustic and electrical validationIntegrate software with lab equipment and hardware systemsCollaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements and translate into solutionsContribute to software architecture and system design decisionsTroubleshoot and resolve hardware/software interaction issuesSupport improvements in test automation and system reliability What Were Looking For Required:Strong proficiency in PythonSolid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP)Experience with Git version controlExperience with GitHub and continuous integrationExperience working with hardware-integrated or lab-based systems2+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent practical experience)Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and collaborate effectively Preferred:Exposure to testing frameworks or automationFamiliarity with C/C++, multithreading, or systems programmingExperience in medical devices or regulated environmentsCompensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $115,000 $145,000 Eligible for participation in an annual bonus plan and stock-based compensation, subject to company performance and board of directors approval Comprehensive health benefits Opportunity to work on cutting-edge medical technology Pay Transparency Notice: The expected salary range for this position is $115,000 $145,000.
