Engineer II

At MLT, we create solutions by empowering our people to fulfill their passion for service. In support of Program Manager, Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA) within the Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) Sustainment Team, we are seeking an Engineer II.

Responsibilities :

General requirements are as follows:

Engineer II provides mid-level engineering support for the design, integration, test, evaluation, and sustainment of Amphibious Assault Vehicles. The position works with cross-functional teams to analyze technical requirements, develop engineering products, resolve technical issues, and support program decisions throughout the product life cycle.

Specific requirements and tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

• Analyze system, subsystem, and component requirements to support design, integration, test, and sustainment activities.
• Develop, review, and comment on engineering documentation, including requirements, drawings, models, specifications, test plans, test reports, and engineering change proposal (ECP) documentation.
• Conduct technical analyses and prepare findings, recommendations, and decision-support materials.
• Participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, test readiness reviews, and engineering change proposal reviews.
• Support hardware and software integration activities and witness or participate in developmental and operational test events, as assigned.
• Identify, document, and help resolve technical risks, issues, and discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Government representatives, contractors, suppliers, and Integrated Product Team members.
• Prepare technical briefs, reports, meeting minutes, and status updates in support of program milestones and customer requirements.
• Support configuration management, risk management, and systems engineering processes.
• Perform other related duties consistent with the position and program needs.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, systems, aerospace, industrial, or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• 3-5 years of relevant professional engineering experience.
• Experience supporting engineering activities across one or more phases of the product life cycle: requirements, design, integration, test, production, fielding, or sustainment.

Specific/Preferred Requirements:

• Active Secret Clearance preferred. Ability to obtain Secret Clearance required.
• Experience supporting acquisition, systems engineering, life-cycle management programs
• Familiarity with the Adaptive Acquisition Framework and related program-management processes.
• Working knowledge of systems engineering, configuration management, risk management, and engineering change processes.
• Experience with complex ground vehicles, heavy equipment, maritime systems, or other relevant platforms.
• Relevant professional certification or advanced degree.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical requirements, drawings, specifications, and test data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to meet customer access, suitability, and site-access requirements, as applicable.
• Technical problem-solving and analytical ability.
• Attention to detail and sound engineering judgment.
• Planning, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Effective customer engagement and presentation skills.
• Ability to document technical work clearly and accurately.
• Professional judgment in identifying issues requiring management or technical-lead escalation.

Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, speak and hear, and to use hands and arms for routine work tasks. The employee may occasionally lift or move items up to 30 pounds. Vision abilities required include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.

Work Environment:

• This position is primarily performed in an office, laboratory, test-site, shop, or customer-facility environment.
• This position may require periodic travel to customer sites, test locations, or field activities.
• This position may require the ability to observe equipment testing, access platforms, or work in industrial environments, as applicable.
