Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Electrophysiology Lab position requiring 2 years of EP lab experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

Work in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab of a hospital setting

Performs procedures including cardiac implant closure device, pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction/removal, arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, conduction studies, insertion/programming of AICDs, left atrial appendage (LAA) closure, and pacemaker insertion

Uses Epic EMR

4x10 day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 07:00-17:30

Call requirements include one week of weekday call every two months (6:30 PM-7:00 AM following regular shift) and one weekend of 24-hour call coverage every two months

Most call-ins are for pacemaker cases and typically last approximately 2 hours, with generally low call volume

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of EP Lab experience required

Bachelor's or Associate degree in Nursing, Biology, or Chemistry from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required; if the degree is in another field, a high school diploma must also be provided

Skills required include Activated Clotting Time (ACT), Cardioversion, Radiation and Laser Safety, Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale, Sheath Removal/Monitoring, Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose, StarClose), Ventilator Management, Arrhythmia Induction, Baseline Measurements, Cardiac Ablation, Cardiac Mapping, Conduction Studies, Insertion/Programming of AICDs, LAA Closure, Pacemaker Insertion, Scrub Procedures, Tilt Table Study, IV Therapy (Blood Product Administration, IV infusion pumps, starting/maintaining IVs), Cardiac Implant Closure Device, Pacemaker/Defibrillator lead extraction/removal, and Watchman procedure

2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; a Charge RN is acceptable for the second reference, but coworker references are not accepted

RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler

Candidates must complete Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting promptly upon accepting an offer, as this is a mandatory and time-sensitive process
