BG Staffing is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support daily maintenance operations at a community in West Hempstead, NY (11552) . This is a contract opportunity with an immediate start for the right candidate.

Position Details

Role: Maintenance Technician
Location: West Hempstead, NY 11552
Pay: $22/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM (1-hour lunch)
Start Date: ASAP
Opportunity Type: Contract-to-Hire

Responsibilities

Complete routine maintenance and repairs in occupied and vacant units
Respond to work orders in a timely and professional manner
Perform basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairs
Assist with unit turns and preventative maintenance
Maintain property grounds and common areas
Follow safety procedures and company standards
Communicate effectively with residents and team members

Qualifications

Previous apartment or property maintenance experience preferred
Knowledge of general maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
EPA certification a plus (if applicable)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
