Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position located in Kirksville, Missouri. This role involves providing acute care to patients of all ages in a busy, high-acuity Level III trauma center. The ER nurse will be responsible for handling various clinical scenarios, triaging patients quickly, and performing a wide range of procedures to ensure efficient patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a registered nurse, minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience, at least 1 year of travel nursing experience, current BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certifications.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a preceptor and/or charge nurse, willingness to assist with precepting, proficiency in performing all clinical skills including PIV (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter), NG/OG tubes, Foley placements, wound care, splinting, and US-guided IV procedures, and ability to assist with art line, central line, and chest tube placement.
• Additional Information: Expectation to handle a patient ratio of 4-5:1, managing patients from ESI (Emergency Severity Index) level 1-5, including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis cases. ER RNs are required to respond to call lights, transport patients, and assist with psych patient placement during night and weekend shifts. The department operates as a team and may require float duties to other departments if needed. EMR system in use is MEDHOST; medication management involves Omnicell, with some medication drips prepared manually. EMR documentation must comply with EMTALA regulations.
