Occupational Therapist (OT) – ABLE / ASD Program

Location: South Holland, IL

Hours: Full-Time | 32.5 Hours/Week | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (30-min unpaid lunch)

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Setting: Onsite | Adaptive Behavior Learning Environment (ABLE) Program

Caseload: K–12th Grade Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (34 students across 3 classrooms)

We are hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) for an onsite position in South Holland, Illinois. Supporting the Adaptive Behavior Learning Environment (ABLE) program, this role focuses on providing specialized OT services to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across K–12th grades in a highly structured classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct occupational therapy sessions focused on sensory processing, fine/gross motor development, self-regulation, and daily living skills.

• Assess student needs within the ABLE program to recommend classroom adaptations, sensory diets, and assistive technology.

• Write, manage, and update Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and track objective student progress.

• Collaborate closely with special education teachers, behavior specialists, and paraprofessionals across all 3 program classrooms.

Requirements:

• Licensure: Active Illinois Occupational Therapist (OT) State License.

• Certification: Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with OT Endorsement (or eligible for school endorsement).

• Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.

• Experience: Previous experience working with pediatric populations, specifically students on the Autism Spectrum (ASD) or in specialized behavior programs, is highly preferred.
