Our recruiters look forward to speaking with you about your background, skills, and compensation requirements.Location: Atlanta, GAShift:Tuesday - Saturday - Days (6:00 AM - 4:00 PM realistically)Wednesday - Sunday - Nights (11:00 PM - 9:00 AM realistically)Position DescriptionThe Transportation Supervisor plays a key leadership role in driving daily operations within a fast-paced cross-dock environment.This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of receiving, warehousing, packaging, and shipping, ensuring exceptional customer service while maintaining cost efficiency. You’ll take ownership of labor planning, scheduling driver and warehouse functions, and contribute to both short-term execution and long-term operational strategy alongside the Operations Manager. This role also offers the opportunity to expand your expertise through cross-training in Transportation and Transportation Management, making it an ideal position for a hands-on leader looking to grow within a dynamic operation.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the workload of up to 9-15 associates by assigning work functions to all staff as necessary to meet the needs of our customersProvide the highest quality service to our customers through efficient, cost-effective, accurate, and damage-free storage of productsMaintain a safe working environment by following company safety policies and proceduresEnsure departmental key performance indicators (KPI) are being metUse and ensure WMS, TruckMate, and PeopleNet systems are updated accurately and promptlyAssist with the implementation and coordination of special projects, such as physical inventory and new accountsIdentify needs and make recommendations regarding department procedures and process changesEnsure accurate inventory levels by maintaining accurate counts in the warehouse management system (WMS)Manage inventory control issues and correctionsTrain new hires to ensure understanding of company processes and proceduresConduct employee performance evaluations and corrective actionRecognize and motivate associatesPerform all other duties and projects as assignedQualificationsEducation/ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor’s degree preferredA minimum of three (3) years of leading and supervising in a warehouse/transportation environmentA minimum of two (2) years of experience working with a warehouse management system (WMS)Forklift operator certificate and/or license requiredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to build credible relationships with customers and develop high-performing, engaged teamsStrong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and proactively mitigating risksAbility to evaluate alternatives and make sound decisions considering labor, cost, customer expectations, and overall business impactDemonstrated analytical ability with strong attention to detail and advanced computer skillsSolid judgment with proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilitiesAbility to act with a sense of urgency to effectively resolve internal and external customer issuesProven track record of taking initiative and ownership, both independently and as part of a teamStrong written communication skills with the ability to produce professional reports and correspondenceExcellent time management and organizational skillsDeep commitment to continuous improvement and LEAN principles#LI-MC1.Benefits:Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, HSA, and medical reimbursementAnnual bonus eligibility401(k) matchVacation and holiday payEmployee assistance and identity theft protectionCareer development and opportunity for internal promotionsTuition reimbursement for further educationCompany paid life insurance and short term disabilitySaddle Creek is an Equal Opportunity employer and an Affirmative Action employer, as required by law.
