Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day accounts payable activities with accuracy and efficiency. This role supports an engineering-focused professional services environment and works extensively in QuickBooks, handling invoice coding, credit card transactions, document management, and related accounting tasks. Offered at $25 - $27/hour commensurable with experience. Projected 8 week project. Key Responsibilities Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and check requests in QuickBooks Accurately code transactions to projects, cost centers, and general ledger accounts Manage and reconcile credit card transactions and statements Maintain organized digital records for invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable Communicate with vendors and internal staff to resolve billing issues Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures Support audits and provide accounts payable documentation as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience Hands‑on experience with QuickBooks strongly preferred Strong attention to detail, organization, and data accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other standard office tools Fast‑paced professional services setting Collaborative team environment with cross‑functional interaction All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
