Echocardiographer (RCS, RDCS) - Cardiology

Location Detail 14 Jones Hollow Rd Marlborough (10387) Shift Detail Mon-Fri Job Description Performs and assists with a variety of echocardiographic tests and other related duties, working under limited supervision to ensure high quality diagnostic studies. Reports to the manager of Non-Invasive Cardiology Services / Manager of Echo Lab or Office/Practice Manager. Responsibilities Produce echocardiograms that satisfy laboratory protocols for standard transthoracic imaging and for special conditions including valvular heart disease, stress echocardiography, 3D echocardiography, and strain imaging. Identify studies that require vetting for appropriateness. Recognize true cardiac emergencies such as cardiac tamponade, aortic dissection, and acute valvular regurgitation. Use contrast for appropriate indications. Participate fully in all routine procedures within the laboratory, including transesophageal echo, stress echo, and structural heart disease cases when applicable. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Health Care. One year of prior echo experience. Graduation from an accredited ultrasound school. Two years echo experience in a hospital setting preferred. RCS by CCI or RDCS by ARDMS. Travel to Middletown and Old Saybrook for coverage if needed.
