Maintenance Tech

Maintenance TechnicianResidence Inn Orangeburg, a Colwen Hotels Property, is seeking a dependable, organized, and diligent Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for repairs, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance relative to the mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems in the hotel.Are you handy and like to fix things? We want to hear from you!This position is offering a $250 Hiring Bonus, subject to applicable tax withholdings. $125 to be paid out after 3 months of employment and the remaining $125 after 6 months of employment.General Responsibilities:Perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned locations, including plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, basic carpentry, and building systemsInspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repairTroubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairPlan repair work using blueprints or equipment manuals as neededPerform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician (examples: drywall, painting, doors, locks, building fixtures)Perform routine maintenance of building systemsPerform routine preventative maintenance programs, follow established standards and guidelinesAdherence to all Colwen and brand standardsWork with supervisor to identify and complete all technical projectsRespond timely to all work ordersClean and assist with upkeep of facilityAssist with House person / Shuttle Driver duties as neededMaintain building exterior not serviced by contractor (e.g. snow removal, lawn care, painting)Perform other related duties as assignedRequirements:Previous maintenance or related experience, hotel experience preferredWorking knowledge of kitchen & refrigeration equipment preferredWorking knowledge of fire protection and life safely systems preferredStrong verbal and written communications skillsAble to interact with guest in a pleasant and friendly wayAbility to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performancePrioritization and time management skillsFamiliar with common computer software programsAbility to learn new computer software programs and operate property management systemAble to work 7-day rotational work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidaysWe've got you covered: Benefits & PerksMedical Insurance with Company-Funded HRADental InsuranceVision InsuranceFlexible Spending AccountsWide-Array of Supplemental Insurance OfferingsPaid Time Off ProgramsEmployee Assistance Program401K Plan – Traditional & Roth Options with Employer MatchHotel Discount Travel Program for Associates & FamilyExclusive Associate Discounts – Travel, Entertainment, & RetailTraining and Development ProgramsCareer Advancement OpportunitiesCompensationHourly Range: $20.00 - $22.00Colwen Hotels is an equal opportunity employer.
