Job Details This position requires participation in on‑call rotation. With a commitment to patient‑ and family‑centered care, the professional nurse uses the nursing process to address the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of diverse patients served by Jefferson Health. Responsibilities Participate in on‑call rotation. Develop nursing plans of care with patients and their designated care partner(s), addressing individualized needs and priorities and respecting cultural beliefs and values. Interact with co‑workers, patients, families, and other staff in a manner consistent with Jefferson’s values. Integrate evidence‑based practice, clinical expertise, patient preferences, and cultural beliefs to deliver optimal care. Partner with patients and families to identify learning needs and provide education that is useful, understandable, and affirming. Minimize risk of harm by following established nursing practices, protocols, and individual performance standards. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support ethical decision‑making. Use data to monitor outcomes of care processes and apply improvement methods to design, test, and implement changes that enhance quality and safety. Function effectively within nursing and inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision‑making to achieve quality patient care. Recognize patients’ preferences and needs, providing safe, compassionate, and coordinated care that respects personal priorities and cultural values. Create an environment of belonging and inclusion, demonstrating problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills. Demonstrate commitment to learning, seek opportunities for professional growth, and act as a preceptor to appropriate staff members. Actively participate in hospital and practice‑setting committees, including safety and quality improvement. Show willingness to give and receive feedback and integrate appropriate changes into practice. Qualifications Education Required: Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) or completion of BSN or appropriate advanced degree within 3 years of hire. Experience Preferred: 1 year previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
