As an Advanced Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experiences.

General Summary

The Medical Assistant operates within their scope of practice to deliver patient care as delegated by licensed nurses, physicians, or advanced practice providers. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, detail-oriented, and able to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling.
• Provide direct patient interaction such as escorting patients, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, and verifying medications and medical histories.
• Document patient information accurately and timely in electronic health records.
• Manage phone communications, route messages, and assist with patient inquiries and test result follow-ups.
• Assist with medication renewals, authorizations, and administration (oral, IM, SQ) as ordered.
• Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and diagnostic tests as directed by providers.
• Maintain supply inventory and ensure exam rooms are clean and well-stocked.
• Educate patients on electronic health record portals and assist with enrollment.
• Support orientation and training of new medical assistants.
• Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, adaptability, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.

Education

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Specialist program is required, or equivalent experience. A high school diploma is mandatory.

Experience

At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or related medical specialist is preferred but not required. Experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.

Certification and Licenses

• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited organization such as AMT is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Exposure to infectious diseases and occasional challenging interactions may occur.
