Work Environment

The selected Orthopedic Physical Therapist will work onsite in our well-equipped outpatient office, which is designed to provide a comfortable and supportive environment for both patients and staff. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans focused on preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring function in patients suffering from orthopedic conditions.
• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' functional abilities using diagnostic tools to evaluate muscle, nerve, and joint performance.
• Oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring that treatment plans are executed properly and effectively.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, traction, and manual techniques while guiding patients through prescribed home exercises.
• Evaluate patient needs and make recommendations for orthotic and prosthetic device use, liaising closely with physicians for modifications.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team approach by contributing to case discussions, planning, and evaluating comprehensive care for each patient.
• Document patient progress meticulously through clinical records—including evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries—to maintain accurate health documentation.
• Provide education on therapy devices and the overall care plan to patients and their families, encouraging effective engagement in their recovery journey.
• Stay current with industry standards and best practices in physical therapy, continuously enhancing personal skill sets for improved patient care.
• Complete administrative tasks including timely submission of clinical and payroll documentation according to organizational policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily centers on orthopedic cases, serving patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions requiring rehabilitation. You will work closely with individuals suffering from musculoskeletal disorders, athletes seeking recovery, and post-operative patients, providing a diverse range of therapy applications suited to their specific recovery journeys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• State licensure as a Physical Therapist in Florida; Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient or orthopedic setting is required.
• Current CPR certification to ensure patient safety during therapy sessions.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy is highly desirable, specifically working with post-operative patients and athletes.

Compensation and Benefits
