Job Description

We are looking for a Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader to take charge of financial reporting and controls while serving as a trusted partner to company leadership, in a hybrid role based in Marietta, GA.

Responsibilities

Lead the accounting team through monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles
Own the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements prepared under GAAP
Serve as the main contact for external auditors and tax advisors throughout the year
Design, document, and enforce internal controls that protect company assets
Oversee cash positioning, bank relationships, and working capital management
Work with executive leadership to build budgets, refine forecasts, and evaluate business performance
Coach and develop accounting staff, setting clear expectations and growth paths
Review and modernize accounting systems, workflows, and reporting packages
Keep the company compliant with tax, regulatory, and lender reporting requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time leading a team
Strong command of GAAP, internal controls, and the audit process
Track record of improving close timelines and reporting quality
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
Clear communicator who can explain financial results to non-finance leaders
Comfortable managing priorities in a hybrid work environment
