Career Opportunities with Journey Hospice We currently have a per diem (as needed) Chaplain position for our clients in North Jersey (Essex County). Competitive compensation: $35/hour. Flexible scheduling. Responsibilities: Provide non‑denominational spiritual care services to patients, families, significant others and/or caregivers, either directly or by coordinating with other spiritual counselors, including community clergy. Basic Qualifications Education/Training/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in theology from an accredited school. Clinical Pastoral Education training with a minimum of 2–4 CPE credits from an accredited program is preferred. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that is insured per NJ requirements. Skills and Knowledge Maintain a professional attitude, communicate effectively, and relate courteously with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisors, and others. Demonstrate optimism, enthusiasm, and willingness to work constructively with other healthcare team members, reflecting concern for the well‑being of patients and employees. Interact with all staff in a positive and motivational manner, supporting the mission and vision of the organization. Experience Training or experience in grief and bereavement counseling. Minimum one year of experience providing an ecumenical approach in pastoral care and client/family counseling. Experience in home health or hospice is preferred.
