Front Desk Optometric Assistant
Crystal Eyecare is looking for a front desk optometric assistant to join our team in Cypress, Texas. The front desk optometric assistant serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the optometry office. This role handles patient scheduling, check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and assists with basic optical tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9 am to 5:30 pm; Tuesday and Thursday: 10 am to 6 pm.
Essential functions include ensuring high-quality patient care, greeting patients, answering phones, and scheduling patient appointments. Assisting optometrists during eye examinations and procedures, performing patient intake and documenting medical histories, conducting preliminary tests such as visual acuity and tonometry, managing patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, educating patients on contact lens options and proper usage, maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, collaborating with the optical team to ensure seamless patient care, staying updated on the latest advancements in optometry, and ensuring proper payments by collecting copays, deductibles, and other patient responsibility accounts receivables.
Education and experience: High school diploma or GED; experience within the optometry field preferred; experience with HIPAA requirements and in patient care preferred.
