Social Services Specialist I - Posting #26956 Hourly Rate: $26.90 Position Summary Full‑time Social Services Specialist position available for Sea Mar's MSS Department in Seattle, WA. The role involves conducting initial screening, providing a comprehensive integrated clinical psychosocial assessment, developing intervention plans, delivering brief treatment, managing long‑term counseling/treatment, and consulting with the interdisciplinary Maternity Support Services team. The productivity expectation is 20 or more client encounters per week for full‑time work. Duties and Responsibilities Introduce clients to integrated MSS services (in home or at clinic) and perform systematic screening to determine current status and needs across various areas. Make referrals to appropriate agencies/services or provide information and assist clients with self‑referral. Provide advocacy as needed to encourage participation in the care plan and resolve barriers such as transportation or language. Chart notes of the services provided as required by state and agency regulations in Sea Mar’s Electronic Health Records. Assist clients in completing necessary tasks such as forms, documents, or authorizations. Maintain professional standards and follow treatment policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Complete a thorough, culturally sensitive psychosocial assessment covering personal history, family functioning, support systems, and basic needs, and share findings with the client and team. Participate fully in interdisciplinary team meetings to provide input on psychosocial needs and build family strengths and resilience. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and current Certified Counselor through the State of Washington Department of Health or Chemical Dependency Counselor. Experience working with underserved populations, including limited English proficiency, homelessness, migrant and seasonal workers; responsible for coordinating timely referral to behavioral health services when necessary. Experience with patients who have substance use disorders, chronic mental illness, or require crisis intervention. Experience with safety‑net providers and broad knowledge of community resources to facilitate whole‑person care. Knowledge of evidence‑based screening tools (PHQ‑9, GAD‑7, AUDIT, DAST, etc.) and ability to use them to guide care interventions and referrals. Good working knowledge of electronic health record platforms, external registries, and the Microsoft suite for documentation and reporting. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred; open to using an interpreter if needed.
