You'll start by leveraging your foundational network security expertise to solve real-world problems for our clients, and over time, grow into a trusted strategic security advisor who shapes how organizations think about and invest in their security posture.If you're someone who thrives on learning, loves breaking down complex problems, and wants to evolve from hands-on engineer to a consultative pre-sales expert who influences security strategy at the highest levels — this is your opportunity.What You'll DoServe as a technical resource for clients across the Heartland region, delivering hands-on support, design guidance, and security best practices in the network security domainCollaborate with sales teams to scope solutions, conduct technical discovery, and present security architectures that align with client business objectivesBuild and maintain deep expertise in network security platforms, translating technical capabilities into strategic business outcomes for clientsDevelop trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders by demonstrating empathy, active listening, and a genuine commitment to solving their challengesProduce clear, concise documentation including security assessments, architecture recommendations, and implementation guidesContinuously expand your knowledge across adjacent security domains, working toward becoming a well-rounded security strategistEmbrace emerging technologies, including AI tools, to work smarter, solve problems, and drive better business outcomesWhat You Bring TodayNetwork Security Foundation – Hands-on experience with network security products and concepts such as zero trust architecture, next-generation firewalls, application identification (AppID), micro-segmentation, and secure accessFirewall & Platform Proficiency – Proven experience working with firewall and network security platforms such as Palo Alto Networks, Checkpoint, and/or FortinetTroubleshooting Ability – Familiarity with common troubleshooting methodologies on network security platforms, including firewalls, routing, NAT, and VPNOperating System Knowledge – Proficiency across client and server operating systems including Windows, macOS, and LinuxSecurity Fundamentals – Working knowledge of general security concepts aligning with CISSP domains (you don't need the cert, but you understand the landscape)Communication Skills – Comfortable producing clear, concise reports and documentation related to security incidents, system performance, and recommendationsWho You Are (The Intangibles That Matter Most)Technical skills can be taught.
