Clinical Co-Responder (Evening Shift)

Overview MHA promotes mental health and total wellness for individuals facing challenges associated with mental illness and addiction recovery. We increase community awareness while enhancing mental well‑being through advocacy, education, prevention, treatment, and services. Position MHA is seeking a full‑time clinical co‑responder to join our Morris County Clinical Co‑Response Team. This role makes a difference in the lives of our consumers. Shift Availability Monday through Friday, 3 PM – 11 PM Benefits Joining the staff of supportive and team‑oriented individuals MHA is an approved site for the New Jersey Behavioral Healthcare Provider Loan Redemption Program Excellent benefits package available Retention incentive provided after completion of 6‑month anniversary Qualifications Master’s Degree and a License in Social Work or Counseling is required (LPC/LCSW Preferred; LAC or LSW considered with at least 1‑2 years of experience). Must have a valid NJ driver’s license and a good driving record. Knowledge of Morris County resources is helpful. Ability to provide effective crisis response and de‑escalation for community mental health/justice involved individuals. Ability to collaborate effectively with responding officers to provide support and resources to individuals within Morris County. Responsibilities Provide clinical co‑response to the Police Department. Co‑respond to calls in conjunction with Police Departments for cases with mental health concerns, including crisis, quality‑of‑life calls, wellness checks, and linking to community services. Collaborate with Police Departments on training and education to improve de‑escalation practices. Develop systems for ongoing follow‑up for community members needing connections to social services to prevent non‑emergency calls and increase early intervention treatment access. Direct follow‑up with identified clients and collateral contacts to facilitate access to appropriate services. Maintain record keeping, reports, and documentation in accordance with program requirements. Be on‑call and available to Police Departments during scheduled work hours via cell phone. Attend regularly scheduled meetings: supervision, agency meetings, and training as assigned. Reporting Reports to Program Director, Collaborative Justice Services.
