Part-Time Learning Support Specialist And Writing Tutor

Job Summary The Learning Services Program (LSP), a program for first‑year students with learning disabilities, is looking for a part‑time Learning Support Specialist/Writing Tutor for the academic year. The LSP Specialist provides academic support and disability accommodations in one‑on‑one weekly meetings to students with learning disabilities and possibly other disabilities. The Specialist also provides individual writing tutoring for students in the LSP reserved section of Writing Studies. Training and supervision will be provided. Position Details Part‑time; 25–27 hours per week. Hourly pay $23.00–$25.00. Responsibilities Provide academic support and disability accommodations to students with learning disabilities in one‑on‑one weekly meetings. Offer individual writing tutoring to students in the LSP reserved section of Writing Studies. Required Qualifications B.A. in a related field. Experience working with students with learning disabilities and ADHD and the accommodations process. Experience providing one‑on‑one academic support services. Experience or training in teaching or tutoring writing, preferably for individuals with learning disabilities. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, patience, attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in education, counseling, or related field. Familiarity with the developmental issues of college students. Strong academic or research writing experience.
