Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite in a hospital environment, predominantly within our orthopedic unit. Key Responsibilities

In this role, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the implementation of individualized treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
• Providing hands-on therapy using therapeutic exercises aimed at enhancing mobility, strength, and overall function.
• Engaging in manual therapy techniques to alleviate pain and improve patient comfort.
• Monitoring and documenting patient progress meticulously, utilizing EMR systems to adjust treatment plans as necessary based on patient feedback and recovery milestones.
• Providing comprehensive patient education on proper exercise techniques, safety guidelines, and self-care strategies during the rehabilitation process.
• Collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop cohesive treatment strategies for complex patient cases.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to hospital compliance standards to ensure the highest level of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily focus on providing rehabilitation services to orthopedic patients, including those recovering from joint replacements, fractures, sports injuries, and soft tissue injuries. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited institution.
• A current and active state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
• A minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in an orthopedic setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice.
• Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic and professional patient care.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with additional certifications in specialties related to orthopedic rehabilitation, such as manual therapy or sports rehabilitation, will be given preference. Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is also advantageous.
