The Back of House Team Leader specifically leads kitchen operations, ensuring food safety, quality, cleanliness, and efficiency while developing people and supporting a high-performing team.

This role serves as a bridge between Team Members and Leadership, helping ensure that standards, expectations, and values are consistently modeled and upheld throughout every shift.

Team Leader Responsibilities

• Lead Back of House operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth, efficient kitchen execution
• Set the tone in the kitchen by modeling professionalism, urgency, teamwork, and Chick-fil-A standards
• Support food safety, food quality, and cleanliness expectations at all times
• Coach and support Team Members in real time, providing direction, feedback, and encouragement
• Hold Team Members accountable to procedures, recipes, and operational standards
• Assist in training and developing Team Members across all kitchen stations
• Ensure proper staffing, station readiness, and task execution throughout the shift
• Communicate effectively with Restaurant Leadership regarding performance, staffing needs, food safety concerns, inventory, and equipment issues
• Complete and oversee opening, transition, and closing responsibilities
• Create a positive, respectful, and productive work environment
• Serve as a role model for reliability, consistency, and leadership

Back of House Operational Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, assemble, and present food safely, quickly, and accurately according to Chick-fil-A standards
• Maintain working knowledge of all Back of House stations, including breading, boards, fries, prep, and assembling
• Ensure food safety procedures are followed consistently
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen
• Monitor food quality, speed, and accuracy during peak periods
• Report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns promptly
• Stay current with new products, procedures, and operational updates
• Complete required training and certifications as assigned
