Job Description
ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurses to join our team. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment and providing high-quality patient care across multiple facilities.

Job Overview

This role requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work at three different locations during the contract. Nurses will be notified of their assigned facility two hours before their shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Perform advanced medical procedures including A-lines, phlebotomy, PICC lines, chest tubes, and ventilation management.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
• Administer medications and intravenous therapy as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist in emergency situations and critically assess patient needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Proficient in the following skills:
  
  
  • A-lines and phlebotomy (hard stop).
  • PICC lines, chest tubes, and ventilation management.
  • Telemetry and IV start.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with pulmonary artery lines and intracranial pressure monitoring.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Patient Population

The patient population includes but is not limited to:

• Cardiac patients
• Neuro patients
• General medical and surgical patients
• Stroke patients
• Transplant patients (kidney and liver)
• Trauma patients

Schedule and Holidays

• A 4-week work schedule will be provided two weeks in advance.
• No blocked or self-scheduling.
• Required to work during 2 out of 3 major holidays: Christmas (day and eve), Thanksgiving (day and after), and New Year's (eve and day).

Floater Requirements

RNs must be willing to float between multiple locations, including:

• Thornton (La Jolla)
• Jacobs (La Jolla)
• Hillcrest (Hillcrest)
• East Campus (La Mesa)

The role may also require floating to emergency department inpatient overflow as needed.
