Plant ManagerPosition OverviewThe Plant Manager will lead and manage all aspects of a manufacturing facility to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role is responsible for delivering production targets, optimizing processes, maintaining regulatory compliance, controlling costs, and developing a high-performing operations team. The ideal candidate has strong experience in plant operations, manufacturing systems, and people leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily plant operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, and delivery commitments.Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and front-line staff to build a safe, accountable, and results-driven team.Implement and sustain continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.Manage plant budgets, labor planning, and cost-control measures while identifying opportunities for productivity gains.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and maintain a strong safety culture across the facility.Coordinate maintenance and reliability programs to maximize equipment uptime and minimize unplanned downtime.Establish and monitor KPIs (production, quality, safety, OEE) and provide regular performance reporting to senior management.Work with quality assurance to uphold product quality standards and resolve customer issues and non-conformances.Oversee inventory, supply chain interactions, and vendor relationships to ensure materials availability and optimal stock levels.Develop and update standard operating procedures, emergency response plans, and continuous training programs.QualificationsBachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of progressive manufacturing experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or plant management role.Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes, plant operations, and production planning.Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of building effective teams.Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA) and best practices.Proficiency with manufacturing software/ERP systems and data-driven decision making.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to operational needs; ability to work on the plant floor.Preferred: certifications in Lean/Six Sigma, and experience in similar plant environments; familiarity with the keywords Plant, Manager, Manufacturing.
