CNC Machinist / Lathe Operator

salary: $27.5 - $30.25 per hour

Responsibilities

Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and quality control of multiple CNC Lathe and Mill machines. You’ll interpret technical drawings, utilize precision calibration equipment (calipers, wrenches, etc.), and ensure every finished part meets our high quality standards.

Primary Functions

• Setup & Operation: Perform setups and tool changes for multiple machines with varying controls to execute turning, drilling, and boring operations on various metal components.

• Programming & Adjustments: Modify, edit, download, and upload programs. Perform offset adjustments and select proper tooling (inserts, cutters) based on print specs.

• Blueprint Reading: Interpret complex technical drawings, revisions, and note codes in accordance with standard shop practices.

• Leadership: Train, mentor, and support fellow operators on the floor.

• Safety & Maintenance: Operate support equipment (air guns, calibration tools) and maintain a clean, safe workstation.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• manual lifting up to 35lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
