About Our School Netivot is an orthodox Montessori school located in East Brunswick, NJ and serving the communities of Highland Park, Edison, East Brunswick, Hillside, Elizabeth, Linden and beyond. Position Overview The Judaic Studies Principal oversees curriculum development, faculty mentorship, and the spiritual culture of the school, while partnering closely with General Studies leadership to ensure a cohesive and balanced educational experience. Prior experience in a Montessori setting is preferred but not required. A successful candidate must demonstrate openness and commitment to learning the Montessori philosophy and participating in Montessori training. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Program Development Provide overall leadership and direction for the Judaic Studies program, ensuring alignment with the school’s mission, values, and Montessori-informed approach. Develop, oversee, and continually refine Judaic Studies curriculum in Tanach, Chagim, Halacha, Hashkafa, Ivrit, and Jewish values. Collaborate with General Studies leadership to support an integrated, child-centered educational experience. Faculty Mentorship & Professional Growth Foster a collaborative and reflective faculty culture focused on growth and excellence. Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of Judaic Studies staff. Participate in and engage with Montessori training to better support teachers and classrooms. Student, Family & Community Engagement Serve as a religious and educational role model, embodying Torah values and inspiring students and families. Build strong, supportive relationships with students to nurture their spiritual and personal development. Play a visible role in school life, including tefillah, chagim, and community events. Qualifications Advanced degree in Jewish Education, Judaic Studies, and/or rabbinic ordination. Strong background in Judaic Studies instruction and curriculum development. Demonstrated leadership ability and experience mentoring teachers. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administration, and families. No prior Montessori experience required, but must be willing to participate in Montessori training and embrace the philosophy. Why Join Our School?
