Job Title: Senior Human Resources Generalist Job Description

The Senior Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in aligning HR practices with business goals and key performance indicators. This position designs and recommends HR policies and procedures, drives improvements in business objectives, and provides comprehensive support across training and development, employee engagement and retention, employee relations, and overall employee services. The role requires a hands-on, data-driven professional who can support a manufacturing or production environment and partner effectively with leaders and employees across multiple shifts.

Responsibilities

• Understand business goals and key performance indicators and translate them into effective HR strategies and initiatives.
• Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to support continuous improvement in HR programs and business outcomes.
• Drive improvements in business objectives through proactive HR support, data analysis, and effective workforce planning.
• Lead and coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills, performance, and career growth.
• Develop and implement employee engagement and retention initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
• Manage employee relations activities, including coaching, conflict resolution, and issue investigation, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
• Oversee overall employee services, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional support for employees at all levels.
• Support recruitment activities, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding, to ensure a strong pipeline of talent for a manufacturing or production environment.
• Administer and support payroll-related processes in coordination with relevant teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Handle onboarding processes to ensure new hires receive a smooth and comprehensive introduction to the organization.
• Maintain accurate HR data entry and records, including employee information, training records, and performance documentation.
• Provide customer service-oriented HR support, responding to employee questions and concerns with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Ensure compliance with HR principles, employment laws, and company policies, and keep documentation and practices up to date.
• Prepare reports, policies, procedures, and business correspondence using Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel analytics and PowerPoint presentations.
• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while supporting multiple shifts as business needs require.
• Collaborate effectively with leaders and employees across departments to address HR needs and support operational goals.

Essential Skills

• 5 to 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
• Experience supporting a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced Excel analytics and PowerPoint presentations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create reports, policies, procedures, and business correspondence.
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate with employees and leaders at all levels.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency.
• Ability to support multiple shifts as business needs require.
• Experience with data entry in HR systems.
• Customer service mindset in delivering HR support.
• Hands-on experience in recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, and employee relations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience designing and delivering training and development programs.
• Ability to recommend and implement new HR policies and procedures to improve business outcomes.
• Comfort working with HR data and metrics to inform decisions and measure program effectiveness.
• Ability to prepare and deliver clear presentations using PowerPoint for leaders and employees.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in HR documentation and reporting.

Work Environment

This role supports a dynamic manufacturing or production environment with multiple shifts, requiring flexibility to provide HR support across different schedules as business needs evolve. The work involves regular use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for analytics and PowerPoint for presentations, as well as HR systems for data entry and record management. The environment is fast-paced and performance-driven, with a strong focus on employee engagement, training, and continuous improvement. The Senior Human Resources Generalist works closely with operations and leadership teams, spending time both in office settings and on the production floor to stay connected to employees and business priorities. Professional attire is expected, appropriate for an office-based HR role that regularly interacts with employees and leaders at all levels.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
