Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

Position Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to strengthen financial planning, accounting operations, and business decision-making.

You will build budgets and forecasts, develop financial models, analyze performance, and deliver actionable recommendations to leadership. You will also directly own key accounting activities, including financial close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

This opportunity is suited to a finance professional ready to expand their responsibilities while remaining actively involved in day-to-day execution. Strong candidates bring experience in both accounting and FP&A, curiosity about business performance, and the ability to turn financial insights into practical actions.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Build and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support business decisions and growth initiatives.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, profitability, and underlying business drivers.
• Prepare budget-to-actual and variance analyses, explaining trends and recommending actions.
• Develop and monitor financial and operational key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Identify financial risks and opportunities to improve business performance.

Accounting & Financial Operations:

• Own and directly perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial reports.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and support financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and related accounting activities.
• Maintain internal controls and financial documentation.
• Support audit, tax, and compliance activities as needed.

Business Partnership & Reporting:

• Partner with operational and functional leaders to understand performance and evaluate business decisions.
• Translate financial and operational data into recommendations that improve profitability, cost management, and efficiency.
• Prepare dashboards, management reports, and presentations for senior leadership.
• Communicate financial results and recommendations clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Improve reporting workflows and streamline or automate recurring finance activities.
• Build reliable, scalable financial processes that support organizational growth.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience across both financial planning and analysis and accounting operations.
• Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
• Direct experience performing month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial statements, and internal controls.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience developing or monitoring financial and operational KPIs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify business drivers and recommend actions.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and personally execute key finance responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Approximately 3–5 years of progressive finance and/or accounting experience.
• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, a growth-stage business, or an entrepreneurial organization.
• Exposure to inventory, cost analysis, revenue analysis, or operational finance.
• Experience developing dashboards and management reporting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, financial reporting platforms, or business intelligence tools.
• Experience improving or automating finance processes.
• CPA, CMA, MBA, or a comparable credential is a plus but not required.
