About the job

The Controller is a full-time and a key member of our team. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in keeping the financial side of the business running smoothly, accurately, and thoughtfully—and who enjoys being a trusted resource to the people they work with.

In this role, you’ll oversee the company’s financial operations, manage the general ledger, prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and maintain sound accounting policies and internal controls. You’ll also lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, while helping us understand how the business is performing against our goals.

You’ll work closely with our external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors to ensure we meet applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. You’ll also partner directly with our leadership team, bringing clarity to the numbers, sharing useful insights, and helping us make well-informed decisions.

The position is a work from home-based position in the greater Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

Qualifications

1. Expertise in QuickBooks Desktop; MS-Excel required; QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification preferred.
2. Strong accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and month-end close processes.
3. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
4. Knowledge of internal controls, compliance, and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) relevant to small and mid-sized businesses.
5. Proficiency with accounting and financial systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools; experience integrating or optimizing financial tools is a plus.
6. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
8. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
9. Experience in professional services, consulting, technology, or software-focused organizations is beneficial.
