Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Stepdown Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio Start Date: October 5, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, every other weekend required Highlights: Progressive Care Unit with mixed acuity including pre and post surgical patients Patient ratio optimized for quality care with daily census of 25-32 patients Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility 13-week travel assignment with 36 hours of comprehensive orientation Float required within the hospital system; call coverage included First-time travelers welcome (candidates with only 1 year of experience subject to manager review) Requirements: Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Epic charting system experience required Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role) Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, central line care, and advanced monitoring equipment Clinical Skills & Responsibilities: Care for adult patients with various medical diagnoses and surgical conditions Manage cardiac drips, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation of dysrhythmias Competency in arterial line management, chest tubes, PICC lines, and port access Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care Administer blood products, manage heparin and IV insulin protocols Wound care including wound vac management Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic progressive care environment with comprehensive interdisciplinary support and advanced clinical resources.
