A Management Analyst I is available with the City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department within the Recreation Division. The Recreation Division is comprised of 21 community centers, the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge, Log Cabin Village, and Aquatics. The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department is made up of 13,135 acres of parkland and includes 308 park and recreation facilities. From hike and bike trails to fitness centers, the Park & Recreation Department is a vital part of Fort Worth, Texas and is an exciting and vivacious place to work.

The Management Analyst I is responsible for assisting with analyzing all aspects of the financial system as it pertains to the Recreation Division including more than $16 million in general fund expenditures and ensuring the necessary funds are in the correct accounts and fund centers. The position requires detailed analysis and guidance to management regarding the operational and capital budget processes of the City. This role demands a strong sense of urgency, accuracy, sound judgment, and the ability to work with many different people. Demonstrated ability to respond effectively and efficiently while remaining flexible, responsible and extremely adaptable is essential. Being proactive and with the ability to simplify is important.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related
• No previous experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of municipal/government budgeting
• Capital & Operating Budgeting
• Finance monitoring, reconciling, capitalization
• Grant monitoring and reconciliation
• PeopleSoft Financials, or similar ERP Financial suites
• Oracle Hyperion (budgeting)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex financial issues
• Supervisory experience
• Exceptional customer service skills

The Management Analyst I job responsibilities include:

• Prepare and assist with the development of division's budget as it pertains to salaries, staffing, and equipment; assist with revenue analysis and fee benchmarking and review
• Assist with the management and reconciliation of the division's grants
• Create supporting details for the budget; identify possible budget overruns
• Review and prepare financial forecasts (for revenue and expenditure accounts)
• Monitor and approve expenditures for the division
• Provide a variety of analytical and research support on various projects
• Assist with compiling, reviewing and tracking document submittals to the Park & Recreation Advisory Board and City Council and review staff credit card purchases, and purchases in PeopleSoft Financials
• Assist with preparing and presenting reports, assist with planning, developing and implementing work plans to include goals and objectives and attend meetings regularly to gather information for the division and department.

Working Conditions and Physical Demand:

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking and repetitive motions.

Light Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
