Must-Have: Experience with intensive cardiac patients (CHF, COPD, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, CRRT, IABP, Impella, normothermia, stroke patients thrombectomy/TNK, ICU overflow)
Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities.
The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses.
The RN advocates for the care of individuals and families.
The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development.
The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care.
The RN serves as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment.
Considerations include factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact.
The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications.
The RN shares responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization.
This includes staffing, time management, supplies, and services.
The RN complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies.
The RN actively participates in and supports initiatives, and contributes to peer review practices.
The RN engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education requirements.
The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
The RN provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
The RN may perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.
The RN participates in a professional development program as knowledge and expertise develop.
The RN will perform other duties as assigned.
Required skills include collaboration, communication (verbal and written), judgment/critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning, problem-solving, quality, reliability, safety, and risk management.
Preferred skills include previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
Education requirements include graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
Preferred education is a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
Required certifications include BLS Certification and ACLS Certification.
Unit-specific requirements must be validated prior to candidate submission.
Preferred certifications may include CCRN and relevant skills certification as required by the unit assigned.
