About This Role The Registered Nurse (RN) in the NICU provides specialized care for newborns and infants, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This role is ideal for compassionate nurses who excel in a fast-paced, critical care environment. Highlights Location: Manhasset, NY Facility: Northwell Health Schedule: Full-Time, Night shift What You'll Do Conduct patient interviews and assess health status across multiple systems. Determine coping mechanisms and identify cultural/ethnic requirements. Develop individualized patient goals and coordinate care activities. Maintain constant vigilance over patient care and safety precautions. Administer prescribed treatments and provide emotional support to patients. Collaborate with care team members and physicians on treatment regimens. Educate patients and families on drug interactions and health conditions. Perform variance analysis related to outcome data for performance improvement. Document patient treatment, activity, and condition accurately. Participate in discharge planning and coordinate referrals as needed. Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two (2) years and obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of job entry date. Licenses & Certifications Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
