Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of clients’ mental health needs, including the identification of challenges and the establishment of treatment goals.
• Facilitate evidence-based individual and group therapy sessions for clients ranging from children to seniors, addressing various mental health issues such as PTSD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and stress-related conditions.
• Develop personalized treatment plans by setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals tailored to each client’s unique needs and circumstances.
• Provide crisis intervention services to clients experiencing acute mental health crises, ensuring immediate support and appropriate referrals if necessary.
• Educate clients about their mental health conditions and offer coaching on coping strategies and techniques to enhance self-management skills.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential client records, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and compliance documentation with state and federal regulations.
• Speak openly and ethically with clients about therapy processes, ensuring that informed consent is obtained and maintained throughout the therapeutic relationship.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals in the mental health field, such as psychiatrists and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida.
