Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

The General Production Worker sets up, operates, and monitors folding and related production equipment to ensure printed materials are folded, packaged, and prepared according to specifications and quality standards. This role follows established procedures, maintains accurate documentation, and supports efficient production flow in a climate-controlled printing and packaging environment.

• Determine the type of fold required for each job based on current production specifications.
• Print and prepare all necessary paperwork and documentation for each job type.
• Follow all required procedures, including departmental Standard Operating Procedures and company Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Select appropriate folding sections for each job and insert the correct folding gates and blanks to achieve the required fold.
• Source and verify printed materials for folding to ensure they match job specifications.
• Set up the feeder to properly fit and feed sheets into the folding equipment.
• Adjust and set rollers to maintain consistent feed and fold quality.
• Set fold gates to ensure correct fold quality, alignment, and size according to specifications.
• Install and adjust slitters or scorers as needed to complete the required fold pattern.
• Obtain quality assurance sign-off for each job before running production.
• Continuously monitor the quality, size, and appearance of finished leaflets during job runs and make adjustments as needed.
• Box folded products for the appropriate next stage, including application or shipping, based on job requirements.
• Comply with all departmental Standard Operating Procedures, company Good Manufacturing Practices, Employee Handbook policies, attendance expectations, and all safety rules and standards.
• Use hand tools and production equipment safely and effectively during setup and operation.
• Perform general production, packaging, packing, inspection, and machine operation tasks as needed.
• Work overtime as needed to complete tasks and meet production deadlines.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support overall production operations.

• Ability to determine required fold types and interpret job specifications for printed materials.
• Ability to count and measure accurately to ensure correct quantities and dimensions.
• Strong attention to detail to maintain consistent quality and detect defects or deviations.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to follow written, oral, and verbal directions from others.
• Ability to respond professionally to questions from supervisors, team members, and customers.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures related to printing and folding operations.
• Ability to use a computer to navigate and understand specifications and job requirements.
• Experience or aptitude in general production, packaging, packing, inspection, and machine operation.
• Comfort using hand tools safely in a production environment.

• Knowledge of printing production processes is a plus.
• Experience with gluing systems and glue detection systems is a plus.
• Experience setting up sensors, scanners, and vision systems is a plus.
• Packaging experience in the pharmaceutical or food packaging industry is a plus.
• Previous experience working around moving mechanical parts and production machinery is beneficial.
• Familiarity with quality assurance processes in a manufacturing or printing environment is an advantage.

This role operates in a climate-controlled warehouse environment that is humidified and regulated in accordance with government requirements. The work area is part of a printing and production facility where employees are regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and print-related chemicals typical of a printing environment. The production floor includes moving mechanical parts and operating machinery, and the noise level is moderate. Team members work around folding machines, feeders, rollers, slitters, scorers, and related equipment, as well as computers used to access and interpret job specifications. Employees should be prepared to follow all safety guidelines, use appropriate protective equipment as required, and work overtime when needed to support production demands.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, MO.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Saint Charles,MO.
