Autokiniton - Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the Company's mission, vision, values, and goals in the performance of daily activities.

• Provide key input into the development of the department strategy and goals, along with identifying and tracking key metrics to support the business plan goals.

• Provide direction and leadership to department colleagues consistent with plant and department business plan goals.

• Responsible for overall coordination and communication within the department.
• Responsible for ensuring accountability and discipline within the department.
• Maintain maximum levels of production utilization and efficiency.
• Drive and oversee corresponding root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Direct efforts of crib, dock and barn activities.
• Coordinate/assess required training and team building (i.e., forklift, training, etc.).
• Coordinate new colleague orientation.
• Track, monitor, and implement required improvement activities related to goals, issues, etc.
• Assist in colleague development and implementation of materials-related training.
• Oversee the activities of the crib, barn and coordinate shipping docks to effectively support plant operations.
• Evaluate department manning levels, assuring compliance and improvements to the budget, and make recommendations to the Materials Manager and HR.
• Assure all inventory control procedures are strictly adhered to.
• Complete individual work team performance reviews and provide mentoring, coaching, and development for colleagues.
• Coordinate the movement of all materials to and from the dock, crib or barn.
• Assure all incoming product is received from vendors and reported into QAD with correct bar code labels.
• Assure all outgoing finished products are shipped on time to avoid premium freight costs and shipped with appropriate labeling.
• Drive and participate in team problem-solving activities and process improvement activities (ex. 8 D Reporting, Kaizen, etc.).
• Support plant activities towards achieving customer awards and quality registrations
• Assist with plant activities to achieve quality, productivity, and cost reduction goals.
• Review all accident reports for identification of root cause and corrective action.
• Responsible for following all internal and OSHA-required safety procedures in performing daily work activities.
• Assure all direct reports are aware of their EH&S responsibilities and hold all direct reports accountable.
• Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized and verify individual usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all the work team.

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides direct leadership and supervises hourly shipping and/or receiving colleagues.

• Ability to identify, select, train, and coach materials talent.

• Provides model behavior to demonstrate corporate values.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of six (6) years of experience in shipping/receiving and/or warehouse management, and one (1) year of management experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Duties include but are not limited to standing, walking, bending, lifting, lift, talking, and hearing, with an ability to travel. When visiting plant site locations, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, or hazardous materials.
