Helmerich Women's Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.The director of pharmacy plans, organizes, controls, and supervises activities in hospital pharmacy according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and State and Federal laws. Recommends innovations in the practice and function of the hospital pharmacy to Administration and carries out mutually agreed upon programs and corporate initiatives. In addition, the director of pharmacy should provide support, mentoring, and oversight of the activities of the clinical pharmacists and supportive personnel on staff.Function in accordance with standard written policy and procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations.Communicate with other pharmacy team members, caregivers, providers, and ancillary departments effectively and positively. Demonstrate emotional control and intelligence in managing work relationships. Attend and actively participate in team huddles and meetings.Ensure that the department is following JCAHO requirements, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the State Board of Pharmacy.Ensure that the department complies with all applicable safety and security practices, infection control policies, fire and safety, and disaster planning.Establish quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives in conjunction with upper management and corporate leadership.Responsible for department planning, goals, and objectives that are consistent with the hospital and pharmacy. Service and communicate these goals and objectives to the team.Provide leadership to the department through effective organization, direction of activities, and appropriate delegation of functions.Responsible for development, implementation, and regular review/maintenance of department-specific policy and procedures.Responsible for the effective recruitment, selection, orientation, training, promotion, evaluation, retention, and termination of department employees.Routinely assess departmental education needs and provide the appropriate learning experiences.Determine and document the competence of department employees.Establish job performance standards, functions, responsibilities, and the qualifications of department employees and provide insightful and timely feedback and evaluations as appropriate.Direct the activities of and provide professional and technical guidance to pharmacy personnel.Maintain appropriate controls of department functions to ensure smooth, effective operations.Promote teamwork among staff, peers, physicians, nurses, and others.Promote multidisciplinary teamwork to meet the organization's goals and objectives.Job Requirements:B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of PharmacyThree (3) or more years of hospital pharmacy experienceTwo (2) years of leadership experienceActive Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of PharmacyOther applicable state requirements – i.e., sterile compounding, etc.BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient carePreferred Job Requirements:Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacyFive (5) or more years of hospital pharmacy experienceALS/ACLS certification (Required if attending Code Blue)
