Eligibility Service Coordinator (Bilingual Required)

Eligibility Service Coordinator – Full‑time, non‑exempt. Pay: $18–22 per hour. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. Primary work location: Hackensack University Hospital, 100 First Street, Suite300, Hackensack, NJ07601. As an Eligibility Service Coordinator, you’ll make a difference in patients’ lives every day. You will be a liaison for patients navigating some of the most stressful moments of their healthcare journey, coordinating scheduling, managing documentation, and facilitating communication to help patients obtain financial assistance through Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and charity care programs. Responsibilities Schedule patient appointments for financial assistance. Check‑in patients upon arrival and ensure all required documentation is available for processing. Answer incoming calls, respond to voicemails, and provide guidance on next steps. Assist patients by providing requested documents and materials. Meet productivity and quality expectations. Utilize multiple systems and databases to gather, track, and report patient information. Communicate updates to Eligibility Specialists on scheduling and patient workflow. Process incoming and outgoing mail. Complete special projects as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Proficiency in English and Spanish. Minimum 6 months of experience in a customer service role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to explain complex information clearly and empathetically. Ability to handle a heavy call volume. Work collaboratively in a team environment. Capability to work in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities and patient needs.
