Sr Manager, Utility-Scale Development - South

RWE Americas, LLC — Senior Manager, Utility Scale Developer Location: North America (US & Canada). Position: Full time, permanent. Functional area: Project Development. Remuneration: Exempt. Role Responsibilities Develop a portfolio of utility‑scale solar, wind, and energy‑storage projects from greenfielding to start of construction. Serve as project lead, managing large cross‑functional project teams. Manage the full project lifecycle, including site due diligence, land control agreements, environmental permitting, interconnection, engineering & pre‑construction, energy yield, tax abatements, power marketing, and tax‑equity financing. Manage cost estimating and EPC bidding process to firm up CAPEX, collaborating with Precon and Procurement teams. Optimize engineering design. Provide construction‑phase support to ensure successful COD. Support junior Development Managers and Associates leading individual projects. Identify best project locations, collaborating with RWE’s commercial and technical teams. Drive project competitiveness optimization via technical, commercial and financial levers. Lead due diligence of project acquisitions with RWE’s M&A team. Prepare management presentations and drive internal approval processes. Manage project budgets, objectives, schedules, and deliverables for assigned development projects. Participate in regional strategy and internal improvement initiatives. Job Requirements and Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business/economics, environmental science, or a related field. Minimum 7 years of experience in renewable‑energy infrastructure, including wind, solar, or battery‑storage projects in the US. Exceptional project‑management skills. Goal‑oriented, self‑starter, strong problem‑solving ability. Ability to multitask, work independently or with a team. Strong leadership and communication; ability to meet deadlines. Strong organization and coordination skills. Strong interpersonal skills and customer‑relationship management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams. Ability to build relationships with diverse backgrounds. Coachable and responsive to direction. Detail‑oriented, business‑savvy, and understanding of business concepts. Willingness to travel up to 50%. Office‑based role with some travel and visits to RWEA offices and field locations. Physical ability to sit, walk, or stand for long durations.
