Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Communication: Must be able to communicate verbally in what may be perceived as crisis situations with team members, patients, and family members to produce quality interaction. Teamwork: With EMT or Paramedic partner must work together to form solutions to unique problems respecting the input of their team member and coming to a common goal. Quality/Safety: Must adhere to safety policies and procedures and act in a safe manner at all times in less than safe conditions including accident scenes or businesses and homes. Job Knowledge: Acts within the appropriate guidelines and scope of practice for the Paramedic role. Does not operate outside of the scope without online medical direction from the ED physician. Financial Stewardship: Maintains accurate supply levels, does not use equipment for purposes other than those for which they are intended. Maintains vehicles in good working order and uses the vehicle with due regard. Performs daily preventative maintenance checks. Problem Solving: Under pressure must be able to analyze problems to identify underlying issues and determine a course of action for care of patient. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education High School Diploma General or GED General or Accredited Program Other – Preferred Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC‑ALS – American Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS‑I – ACLS – Instructor BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support – Instructor PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support or ARC‑PALS – American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS‑I – PALS – Instructor PARA – Paramedic GADL – Georgia Driver’s License Additional License(s) and Certification(s) Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 1 year as an Emergency Medical Technician; Preferred.
