Join us, and find your runway to growth, innovation, and success.**About the Role** The Airline AOG Buyer is responsible for the expedited sourcing and procurement of aircraft parts, components, tooling, and materials required to resolve AOG situations. This role requires quick decision-making, strong vendor relationships, and close coordination with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and logistics providers to support the fastest possible aircraft recovery. You’ll manage urgent purchasing activity from initial request through delivery while ensuring all materials meet JSX quality, documentation, traceability, and regulatory requirements.**A Day in the Life** In this role, you’ll:* Respond immediately to AOG requests from Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams.* Source aircraft parts, components, tooling, and materials through approved vendors and suppliers.* Expedite procurement through vendors on the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and Part 121/135 carriers in accordance with the General Maintenance Manual (GMM) and applicable FARs.* Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and shipping methods while balancing aircraft recovery needs with cost considerations.* Issue purchase orders and monitor fulfillment from placement through final delivery.* Coordinate domestic and international logistics, including same-day couriers, charter services, and expedited freight.* Verify required documentation, certifications, traceability, and airworthiness of purchased parts, including applicable FAA and EASA documentation.* Ensure purchasing activity complies with FAA requirements, JSX purchasing policies, and quality standards.* Maintain continuous communication with Maintenance Control, Operations, vendors, and logistics providers throughout AOG events.* Review inventory availability and identify opportunities to use existing stock before pursuing external procurement.* Maintain accurate purchasing and transaction records within applicable ERP and MRO systems.* Develop strong supplier relationships that improve response times, availability, and service levels.* Participate in required after-hours, weekend, holiday, and AOG coverage. **Why You’ll Love This Role*** **Keep Aircraft Moving:** Your work directly impacts aircraft availability and JSX’s ability to recover quickly from maintenance events.* **Solve Problems in Real Time:** Navigate urgent sourcing and logistics challenges where quick thinking and resourcefulness make an immediate difference.* **Build Industry Relationships:** Develop strong partnerships with aviation suppliers, carriers, and logistics providers.* **Own the Recovery:** Follow critical material requirements from initial request through delivery and help drive AOG events toward resolution.* **Work at the Center of the Operation:** Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Materials, and external partners to support a safe and reliable fleet. **What Makes a Successful Airline AOG Buyer?** We’re looking for someone who is:* **Responsive:** You understand the urgency of an AOG environment and act quickly when aircraft recovery is at stake.* **Resourceful:** You know how to explore sourcing and logistics options to find solutions when time and availability are limited.* **Detail-Oriented:** You maintain accuracy even when working under significant time pressure.* **Communicative:** You keep stakeholders informed and coordinate effectively with vendors, Maintenance, Operations, and logistics partners.* **Organized:** You can manage multiple urgent requests while maintaining accurate records and follow-through.* **Accountable:** You take ownership of purchasing activity from request through delivery.* **Entrepreneurial:** You bring initiative, creativity, and sound judgment to solving urgent operational challenges. **Required Experience*** Ability to prioritize and manage multiple urgent requests in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.* Strong organizational and time-management skills.* Knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures and customs documentation.* Ability to work an overnight **6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. shift**.**Preferred Experience*** 2+ years of purchasing experience, preferably within the aviation or aerospace industry.* Experience working for an airline, MRO, aircraft manufacturer, or aviation parts distributor.* Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 121 and/or Part 135 operations.* Experience sourcing aircraft parts, components, tooling, or other aviation materials.* Experience working with aviation purchasing, ERP, or MRO systems.* Familiarity with FAA/EASA documentation, aircraft parts traceability, and airworthiness requirements.**Benefits & Perks*** **Health Benefits:** New Crewmembers become eligible for coverage on the 1st of the month following the start date, with medical plans beginning at just $110/month. 100% employer-paid dental & vision, plus up to $2,100 annually for HSA contribution.
