Legal Billing Specialist

MUST HAVE LEGAL BILLING EXPERENCE. The Legal Billing Specialist is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing client invoices in accordance with law firm billing guidelines, client agreements, and industry standards. This role works closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and accounting staff to ensure accurate billing, timely collections, and compliance with client-specific requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare, edit, and finalize client invoices for attorneys and practice groups. Review prebills and makes necessary billing adjustments based on client instructions. Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines, outside counsel guidelines, and e-billing requirements. Submit invoices through electronic billing platforms. Monitor billing status, invoice rejections, and appeals, resolving issues promptly. Generate monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc billing reports. Maintain client billing records and matter information within the firm's accounting and practice management systems. Required Qualifications 2+ years of billing experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment. Knowledge of legal billing practices Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of law firm operations and legal terminology.
