Step into a rewarding opportunity as an on-site Intervention Specialist working full-time with students near Newark, OH. This contract position runs from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of both elementary and high school students. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff as a co-teacher and support learners with diverse abilities throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist (OH IS) certification required
- Experience in special education, specifically as a co-teacher, highly valued
- Understanding of best practices for inclusive classrooms and differentiated instruction
- Familiarity with IEP processes and compliance
- Ability to support a variety of student needs and disabilities
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with general education teachers to deliver tailored lessons in both elementary and high school settings
- Support students’ academic and behavioral goals as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Develop engaging activities to foster student growth and inclusion
- Monitor and document progress, making instructional adjustments as needed
- Communicate regularly with families, school staff, and support professionals
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive learning environment
